Description
This wine is produced with grapes of the highest quality, vinified in purity in total respect of traditions and environment. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, it is refined for a minimum of two years in French oak barrels using a completely natural method.
The first news of this vine date back to 1300. According to some, the name derives from “fog”, as its berries, veiled by the abundant pruina, seem surrounded by a thick fog, while according to others it would be related to the late ripening of the grapes, which force us to harvest the grapes in late October. Finally, a more ancient version would derive the name Nebbiolo from “noble”, since from this vine we obtain “generous, vigorous and sweet” wine.
Thanks to a particularly acidic substratum, rich in iron and poor in limestone, it finds in the Colline Novaresi area a particularly suitable podological habitat.
