Description
This wine is produced with the highest quality grapes, vinified purely with full respect for tradition and the environment. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, it is refined for a minimum of two years in French oak barrels using a completely natural method.
The earliest records of this grape date back to the 14th century. Some believe the name derives from “nebbia” (fog), as its grapes, veiled by an abundant bloom, appear to be surrounded by a thick fog. Others believe it refers to the late ripening of the grapes, which often requires harvesting during autumn fogs. Finally, an older version suggests the name “nebbiolo” derives from “nobile” (noble), as this grape produces a “generous, robust, and sweet” wine.
Thanks to a particularly acidic soil, rich in iron and low in limestone, the Novara Hills offer a particularly suitable growing environment.
