Description
This wine is produced with the highest quality grapes, vinified in purity in full respect of tradition and the environment. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, it is aged for at least two years in oak barrels through a completely natural method.
The first news of this vine date back to 1300. According to some, the name derives from “nebbia”, as its grapes, veiled by abundant bloom, seem surrounded by a thick fog, while according to others it is related to the late ripening of the grapes, which often forces harvesting during the autumn fogs. Finally, an older version, derives the name nebbiolo from “nobile”, as this vine produces “generous, vigorous and sweet” wine.
Thanks to a particularly acidic substrate, rich in iron and poor in limestone, it finds a particularly suitable pedological habitat in the Novaresi Hills.
