Description
This wine is produced with very high quality grapes, vinified in purity with total respect for traditions and the environment. After alcoholic and malo-lactic fermentation, it is refined for at least two years in French oak barrels using a completely natural method.
The first news of this vine dates back to 1300. According to some the name derives from “fog”, as its berries, veiled by the abundant bloom, seem to be surrounded by a thick fog, while according to others it would be in relation to the late ripening of the grapes, which often obliges us to harvest in the time of autumn mists. Finally, an older version would make the name nebbiolo derive from “noble”, since from this vine we obtain “generous, vigorous and sweet” wine.
Thanks to a particularly acid substrate, rich in iron and poor in limestone, it finds a particularly suitable podiatry habitat in the Novara Hills.
